ALGEBRA 2/TRIGONOMETRY
General Description
Prerequisite: Geometry
This class is an extension of Algebra I and Geometry concepts and provides further development of the concept of a function. It is meant for students who want to further their studies of mathematics to prepare for the rigors of pre-calculus or other advanced math classes. Enrolling in this class will help students be prepared for college entrance exams. Graphing Calculator Required
Content
Critical areas include, but are not limited to:
- Functions and their transformations, to include: polynomial, radical, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions.
- Algebra topics such as linear and polynomial equations, and solving systems of equations.
- Trigonometry

A Thinking Classroom is one where mathematical reasoning is visible. Students are encouraged to ask questions. Curiosity is fostered and valued. Answers are important, yet it is the mathematical reasoning and communication of ideas that is of utmost importance.
