HUMAN GEOGRAPHY, Advanced Placement
Prerequisite: Willingness to invest the time necessary to perform at a rigorous academic level.
AP Human Geography at our school is a year-long course designed to meet or exceed the experience of an introductory one-semester college Human Geography course. The purpose of the course is to utilize geographic processes to systematically study and understand spatial patterns that are evident in the world in which we live. Fees: Optional AP Exam Fee (Approx. $100.00)
AP Human Geography allows students to learn about world population issues, border disputes, and international conflicts. The course exposes students to economic theories and models as well as world religions and the origins and diffusion of languages. They study urban development, industrialization and city planning. Overall, APHG students explore topics ranging from farming to pandemic disease and become more knowledgeable about the global world.
