Dear Graduates and Families:
COVID 19 has definitely altered our lives in numerous ways from distance learning to the cancelation of many of the traditions we have come to love as a society. Graduation and celebrating our Seniors is part of that list, but the Administration Team at Enumclaw and our business partners are making plans to create an event that achieves the goals of graduation and provides our families the memories that are associated with this important event.
The Superintendent, some of the Enumclaw School Board, Building Principal and others will film a portion of the ceremony with the help of Enumclaw TV. The main portion of the ceremony is the recognition of each graduate as they receive their diploma and walk across the stage and we believe with the help of Jostens and Timothy Dehnert Photography, we have a solution. Each graduate will have a slide showing their photograph, a short bio, and a brief congratulatory note from the family, along with a video of them walking across the stage.
Timothy Dehnert Photography has generously offered to take a photograph of each graduate and one of the immediate family (parents/guardians, brothers and sisters only please) the week of May 11th - 15th between 11 AM and 8 PM. Appointments are every seven minutes Monday - Thursday that week with Friday scheduled as a make up day. The following link will take you to the website to schedule appointments: https://www.timmydphotography.com/ehs-classof2020-graduation
On the day selected, we are asking families to drive in one vehicle if possible to the Enumclaw High School Auditorium Turn Around. The eight families scheduled during each hour will be invited into the Auditorium Loop. In an effort to continue social distancing, please stay in your vehicle until we signal your family to enter the Auditorium. While in the Auditorium, graduates take a headshot, an immediate family photo and walk across the stage to receive a diploma cover.
Reminder: Graduates should arrive wearing their cap and gown for these pictures. If you haven’t picked up your Josten’s order please do so at EHS. If you do not have the ability to order a cap/ gown please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org with your height and we will provide a temporary cap/gown for you.
Tim will process the photos after the 15th and we will add them to the individual slides. All families will receive a complimentary 8x10 photo from EHS. The video of the graduates walking across the stage will have sound along with an introduction and closing and will be connected to the rest of the ceremony. We will share other information in the coming weeks regarding the availability of the ceremony.
On the next page you will see a sample of the slide we are creating and a spot for you to enter a personal message for your graduate.
We Love our Seniors!

March 26, 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians of an EHS Hornet Senior!
We can only imagine the conversations in your home regarding what might occur this spring for your senior child. We are all experiencing this extraordinary time together and we know how honoring and celebrating our seniors is so important to each of us. With that in mind, we wanted to share with you some important information and to reassure you that we will provide all means necessary to assist students in meeting all requirements necessary for graduation. These include the following:
- Earning needed credits
- Completing a High School & Beyond Plan
- Fulfilling a graduation pathway with test scores or alternate means
Counselors have previously met with every senior at the beginning of this school year that was not on track to graduate and communicated each student's progress towards meeting graduation requirements. If your student was not on track you should have also received a letter during the first semester summarizing your student’s graduation status, outlining specific plans for their situation. You can anticipate counselors and in some situations case managers reaching out, in the coming week, to any students who are not on track to graduate. If your student is unsure about their status they can reach out to their counselor via email or phone. All contact information is available on the Enumclaw High School website.
All students have the ability to turn in any unfinished work that was previously assigned second semester prior to closure. Teachers are accepting this work and will assess it for a grade/credit. Our teachers will continue to communicate with their students weekly to continue moving their learning forward.
We are still going to be offering a May credit retrieval session. If your student needs to sign up for this session they should contact their counselor as soon as possible.
High School & Beyond Plan
For students who have not yet met this requirement, counselors will communicate any specific remaining components of their High School & Beyond Plan. Students will be permitted to complete this requirement through their assigned teacher’s google classroom.
Testing or Alternate Graduation Pathways
For students who have not yet met this requirement, counselors will communicate specific plans to help them complete their pathway.
AP Course and Testing
As you may already know, the College Board has made a number of changes to this year’s AP testing process, due to school closures across the nation. The link below provides specific information about AP testing, online resources, and other important information about all things AP. Your student's AP teacher will also be in regular communication throughout our closure.
At this time, we are still planning to be back in school on Monday, April 27. We have not made any changes to activities that are scheduled to occur after that date (i.e. prom, graduation, etc.). We are hoping that this will remain true, but if the timeline changes we will share updates about these activities.
