On Saturday, October 28th, our German students, led by our very own German Teacher & GAPP Coordinator, Alysha Holmquist Posner, hosted the German Student Convention from 10 am to 3 pm at the High School. Six schools came from all over the Puget Sound and 150 students participated in games, seminars, dancing, lunch, and cake!
Our German program also received a huge honor. We were invited to partner with the German government through a program called PASCH. Representatives from Goethe Institute attended and at a signing ceremony, they presented Frau Holmquist with a certificate and sealed the deal choosing Enumclaw High school as their 2023-2024 PASCH partner. This gives us special support from the Germans for the teaching and learning of German and our advanced students will be partnering with other German classes around the world for a mannequin challenge. (Pssst! They've already sent us VR goggles to use in class!) Holmquist said, "It's a big deal as we are 1 of 14 schools in the US to be invited to the program."
