On May 21st, in conjunction with the Enumclaw District Art Show, was the K-5 CTE Exploration Night at Enumclaw High School. Youth were able to explore different high school CTE classrooms, and try their hand at multiple fun activities.
Throughout the evening, there were opportunities to raise cars on a lift in the auto shop, as well as check tire pressure, and have wheel races. Down the hall in engineering, they were building airplanes and flying them through obstacle courses. Across the hall, students made videos of themselves dancing with penguins! There were more planes being created in woodshop, and fruit smoothies were a hit in the culinary classroom, as were the Graham Cracker cookies.
Speaking of food, students could learn about the digestive system with Goldfish crackers and balloons, thanks to our HOSA club. Then, to burn off some of those calories, you could build a tall tower using different material, or head to the Small Gym and learn about Health and Wellness.
Last, but certainly, not least, students could go out to the Ag Building and made goat milk soap bars to take home, and meet some of the goats we have on campus. Some may have even been able to meet a goat adopted by their class!
While out in the Ag Building, they also toured the welding shop, and learned about opportunities they have waiting for them when they get to the high school, like getting certified to drive a fork lift.
